How to win and how to set up

How to win

Take all 6 of your Prize cards. You also win if your opponent runs out of Pokémon in play or can't draw a card.

Before playing

1

Draw seven cards

Shuffle your 60-card deck and draw seven. If you don't have a Basic Pokémon, show your hand, shuffle again, and draw seven more.

2

Set up your Pokémon

Place a Basic Pokémon as your Active Pokémon and, if you want, up to five Basic Pokémon on your Bench.

3

Set up your Prizes

Place the top six cards of your deck face down. Those are your Prize cards.

Tip: you don't need to memorize everything. Read a lesson, try what it explains, and come back when you have a question.
